My Students

I want my students to fall in love with reading and discover how captivating books can be!

I teach in a Title I school with students from many backgrounds.

My students are an amazing group of second graders who are building their stamina with reading. They are motivated to learn how to become great readers and love choosing books from their book bags to read during Daily 5.

My Project

I am requesting leveled readers for my students to read during "Read to Self", which is a component of Daily 5. My students all have different needs and they are not all reading the same level books. The leveled books will provide all of my students access to books that are appropriate and interesting. I am very excited for my students to have a variety of high interest books that will encourage a life long love of reading. Your donation will help my students become more independent readers. By providing my students with engaging and appropriate level books, they will be more encouraged to build their stamina for reading independently. I want my students to love the books that are in their book bags and this project will allow them to have more choices of what to read while building their confidence.

Independent reading is one of the most important components of my students' day and your donation will help my students stay engaged.
