Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." And that is exactly what I am trying to instill in my students.
It is January and over the last five months, I have not seen a group of students grow as much as I have seen these twenty-seven 3rd graders grow!
They all came into the class with varied strengths and weaknesses. Some enjoyed school and some loathed it. However, I can say that today, they have all become resilient, ambitious, and little thriving scholars in our little classroom community.
My Project
Daily we work to challenge ourselves and each other so that we can become the better and best versions of ourselves. We have begun our weekly science investigations, which is a precursor to our own individual science exploration to come. With our science presentation boards, assorted duct tape, pens and envelopes that we are requesting, we will be able to visually share our projects.
We will be asking questions that we will answer based on our hypothesis. We will identify the materials that we need and explain the procedures. Our results will be graphed and explained and conclusions will be drawn.
With so much emphasis on reading and math, there has been little time for other content areas.
Science is an area that requires both reading, writing and math and is exciting for the students because they get to dig in and explore. With your support, my students can bring their experiments to life and showcase their research and finding at our first annual Spring Special Super Science eXperiment Spectacular!
