Some Broken Keeps Some Standing

My students need 10 of our badminton rackets replaced due to wear and tear, thus forcing too many students waiting their turn to play. My students also need 36 shuttlecocks.

My Students

Our student population of over 600 allows for every student to attend PE a little over four months each year. Students get the opportunity to play a wide variety of games throughout their four years at WJB. It's time to play badminton next year!!! Only one problem, not enough rackets for everyone.

I would love to tell you that all of our students love every activity we play in our Physical Education class, however, many of our students arrive at our school and already dislike being active.

So we try to find games and activities that everyone can enjoy. The goal of any PE program should be one that promotes ways for their students to continue using what they learned in our class and be able to be active in some form as they move on in their lives. We have found that our most apathetic PE students love playing certain games, and badminton is one that gets most all involved.

My Project

Simple, we have a great set up with our net system already purchased. Activities are all planned, although we strive to add more each and every time. What we do need is more students being active, and the only way to do this is to acquire more rackets for all to participate.

Obesity is at an all time high in the United States.

Everyone needs to find their own path to becoming more healthy, and the lifetime activity of badminton is one sure way our students can continue this process.
