Smart Board for Smart Students

My students need a smart board. This will help greatly with presenting materials as well as interactive lessons and projects to provide student-centered instruction.

My Students

I am implementing guided reading groups this year to provide the best literacy instruction for my students. I envision a room of students who are working independently on their own goals. I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand. - Confucius

We are a rural school with a large free and reduced-price lunch population of students.

Typical class sizes are around 20 students. Our school does an excellent job of improving our technology yearly. Unfortunately, smart boards are expensive and have not been an option to us.

My Project

I plan to have my students working independently towards individual goals in reading and writing this year. I also plan for students to be a large part of whole group instruction being as student-centered as possible. Students would be using the smart board in independent and small group activities as well as interacting in whole group lessons. Students would also be able to create and present projects to their peers using a smart board.

This will provide my students with a piece of technology to use in a technology-dependent world.

It will also be a great resource for them to interact with during lessons and small group discussions.
