Sensory Fun!!!

My students need sensory toys. They need 3Hairy Tangle Junior, 2 Fiber Optic Wand with Magic Balls and3 Pull, Stretch, and Squeeze Balls.As you may already know, students with autism are motivated and calmed by sensory-based toys.

My Students

It's that time of the day again.... Reinforcer time!!!! We have completed our hard and busy day and we just want a moment to play... but, these toys are boring!!! We've been playing with them all year.

My students with Autism have a busy day, every day.

There are six students in my self-contained classroom. Six students, who work hard every day. My students are busy with one-to-one IEP instruction, desk work, work station, communication skills, socialization skills, group work and smart board lessons, not to mention speech therapy, physical therapy and occupational therapy as well as activities of daily living, adapted physical education, music class, literacy class, vocational education. Some my students are non-verbal. They use picture symbols or voice-output devices such as an iPad to communicate. All of my students have extreme deficits in communication, socialization and academics.

My Project

Due to challenging behaviors caused by their disabilities my students are in need of highly motivating reinforcers. They love sensory-based toys like sensory balls, fiber optics wands and other fun toys. The students are currently, completed satiated with the reinforcers and toys that we currently have in our classroom. BY THE END OF THE DAY THEY JUST WANT TO RELAX! And who can blame them? They enjoy sensory-based activities and toys! They love sensory balls, fiber optics wands and other fun toys. How awesome! These items will give my students the opportunity to relax after a hard days work or even after a challenging activity. They will allow them the opportunity to enjoy their favorite things that they have worked so hard for. In funding this project you will allow us to have a more motivating leisure time, which in it's self is important, but it will also allow us to be more motivated to complete our work because we will have something fun to work for .
