My Students
Do you remember what it was like to sit at a desk in a classroom? Now imagine you are sitting at a desk that was made for kids who are in the 6th grade but you are in kindergarten. We need a rug to sit on so we can better learn Spanish!
My students range from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
I teach Spanish to children Kindergarten through 8th grade in a large urban district. Many of my students come from low-income households. Although the school is relatively small, we have quite a diverse population and many of the students speak other languages at home.
My Project
At my school, Spanish language acquisition begins in Kindergarten. Nevertheless, the desks that our in my classroom are for the older students. When the Kindergarten students sit at the desks that we currently have, their feet do not even touch the floor. It is very difficult for them to engage in Spanish while using furniture that is not their size. Please help us get a Spanish carpet for the younger kids so that they will be able to learn more Spanish comfortably just like the older students.
Learning should be a fun and enjoyable experience.
The rug will help create an optimal learning environment for the younger students. Please help us get a Spanish rug for our classroom so that the younger students will be able to learn with ease!
