My Students

As popular technology devices go, I think it is safe to say that we are in the season of Ipads and tablets in the educational world. It is obvious that they are powerful tools, Like other educators, I would love to have one to use with my students.

I am currently a 3rd grade teacher and have been for several years.

My current school is a Pre K-5th grade school in which parental support is wonderful. Our school has almost 550 students at this time. My students are eager to learn. All of our teachers are active in utilizing technology in our classrooms.

My Project

As a dedicated educator with a focus bringing technology and curriculum together, I realize how vital it is in recognizing individual student needs. With the use of an Ipad in our classroom, I would use it in individual centers needed to practice skills in ELA subjects. To help out, our school tech specialist helped us by setting up school Ipad website to assist with apps. My plans lie with gathering some free reading and writing apps on that site to help lessen gaps with my students. I also plan to use it in whole class activities. I will connect it to our projector and interactive white board with an Apple Dock VGA adapter.

As we watch educational world embrace the season of Ipads and tablets, I personally agree that these devices will continue to be powerful tools for our students.
