My Students

I want my students to be "Science Strong" by the end of the year; however, with limited supplies that becomes a challenge. I want them to know the different types of science instruments, but I also want them to know how to use them, when to use them, and why they use them.

My students are active, energetic, eager to learn second graders in a high poverty, low-income school in rural North Carolina.

Although our schools is a low performing school, our students strive to do their best. My students want to become "mini scientists" and learn what they can about all aspects of science; however they need the right tools to become the scientist that they want to be.

My Project

My students will participate in lessons on different science topics and then they will complete a science experiment on that topic. Students will record their observations just like a real scientist! Using hands-on activities students will bring science to life!

With these motivating hands-on experiments, my students will be able to increase their science knowledge while reinforcing their critical thinking skills.

Having scientific knowledge is a necessity with our changing and growing world. The skills learned through these experiments will help my students in their educational and future career paths.
