Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students come to school eager to explore and learn new things each and every day. I teach in a small low socioeconomic town; a lot of my students do not have Internet at home much less a computer.

However, with our changing world students need to keep up with new technology and technology is something that really motivates students.

This year I have a very unique group of students because their learning abilities vary so greatly. I have some students who are very advance and some who need extra support.

My Project

A Promethean board would allow me to differentiate my lessons and stations to meet the needs of all my learners. A Promethean interactive whiteboard allows for a multitude of learning experiences. We can use it to make our math lessons more involving, and to see our letters form in a new way. We can create presentations, and share a book on a screen. The possibilities are endless! At this time, I use a projector to display images on a screen. The problem with this is that the students are not actively engaged with what is being projected it is based on me showing them, which is not the best way to reach the multi-sensory needs of my students.

A Promethean board will allow me to create hands on and engaging lessons that will motivate all of the different learners in my class.

Therefore, a Promethean board would allow my students to be active in their own learning experiences. If my class got a Promethean board it would make a huge difference in my ability to reach all of my unique learners needs.
