This year, my formerly K-3 school will become a Pre-K to 2nd grade school, opening its doors to six integrated preschool classes as well as other special needs elementary classes. I am the new Media Specialist this year and it is up to me to build the preschool area in our library.
This year, my school will become "home" to six integrated preschool classes and other elementary special needs classes.
Our school is thrilled to have our newest little students and we cannot wait to welcome them with a library that will meet their needs with engaging storytime activities!
My Project
In using these materials, students will be able to retell stories and to engage in creative learning extensions that build from their curriculum and library storytime. Our preschool and special needs students will be able to use felt board sets, puppets, instruments, and bean bag activities to go along with the stories that we will read during their weekly class in the Media Center!
Donations to this project will change the heart of my school, the library, to make it a welcoming and engaging place for our newest little learners to grow a love of reading along with numerous other skills.
As the new Media Specialist at my school, I could not be more excited to have the opportunity to create this library program for our wonderful students and community.
