My Students

Our students love our school library, and would love to see more books about kids, people, and culture in other countries. We have had to discard some materials due to age and inaccuracy, and would like to replenish their choices.

Ours is a Title One school, with almost half of the population on free and reduced lunches.

Some of them have few, if any, opportunities for travel, and these books can open the world for them. Our students are curious and eager to learn everything they can about the world around them!

My Project

The students will be able to check out a greater variety of books that have more current, relevant information about other countries and continents. Reading groups may also choose to focus on these books and then teach each other what they have learned.

This donation would instantly rejuvenate our library's collection with modern-looking, up-to-date books on countries, and give the kids something to be really excited about.

It is especially important to present them with appealing nonfiction that teaches them important concepts.
