I teach an extremely diverse group of second graders.
They love dancing, practicing yoga, learning about famous artists, studying history, creating art, reading, writing, solving math problems, our sock monkey collection and funky socks. They are energetic, inquisitive and funny.
My Project
My students really want to make a difference in the world. We have raised money this year by selling bookmarks to help survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing and Hurricane Sandy. We sold handmade postcards and stamps during our school wide post office. We donated the money to various charities around the world that help kids in need. We would love to raise money for the organization, Pencils For Kids. They give school supplies to needy children in Libor, Niger. We would love to sell pencils in the lobby and then donate the money to Pencils For Kids! We would love to raise awareness for this organization. We need cool pencils and pencil cases for our fundraiser!
