My Students

Like in the story Aladdin, I want my students to feel like they are experiencing a magic carpet ride while we are in sitting in our learning center. Every day we begin with whole groups on the carpet & visit it throughout the day. As a teacher, I want their learning experience to be truly magical!

Our Pre K-5th grade school is one of the feeder schools in town.

We have over 500 wonderful students here! I am a Pre K teacher who has taught other grade levels in the past. My tiny Pre K students truly love and embrace being at school. I am amazed how much learning they absorb each and every day.

My Project

During our productive learning time, we use the carpet area while we are learning songs, working with calendar time, reciting the alphabets, and reviewing various math skills! we also sit carpet time as we work with our Promethean Board lessons as well. Although they don't realize it in terms of learning, it truly is like a "magic carpet" ride each and every day. They leave each day with a little bit more knowledge than the day before. To me, that has a hint of magic in itself! Don't you? If funded, it would be used every day. When my fabulous little learners are on it, more knowledge will be fed to them as I engage their little minds in this fabulous learning zone. Our magic carpet zone will be used as a main area where students will be encouraged to engage in activities that not only foster a positive learning environment but will engage their creative minds too. Our "carpet time" will be used to identify letters and sounds, numbers, and countless other lessons.

As I said at the beginning, I want my students to feel like they are experiencing a "magic carpet ride" while we are in sitting on the carpet.

Every day in my Pre K classroom, we begin with a whole group setting with students sitting on the floor. We visit it throughout the day, as well. A new carpet would be an asset for all of us. Please help us get a nice new carpet for our center time. Your consideration would be deeply appreciated. You can help make this a magical experience for us!
