Once upon a time, there was a Kindergarten classroom who wished for an "all-in-one" classroom computer. However, there were no funds readily available at the time. As an educator, I know we could utilize new computers. It would truly bring so many of our lessons to life! Would you please help us?
I teach Kindergarten at a wonderful Pre K-5th feeder school with over 500 students.
The parental support is very important to our families in the community. Our school is blessed to have wonderful teachers, leaders and of course, the best students! We are a school that believes in technology integration and we work hard every year to gain more technology resources for our students in the classroom.
My Project
I know the importance of focusing on different student levels. I do that daily with the help of technology. At this time, I have a few outdated XP computers, so a new "all in one" computer could help meet more needs with my kindergarten students for reading and math skills. When our XP computers had a mandatory upgrade to Windows 7, my computers slowed down a lot. In short, some are now crawling and my students struggle with a couple of my outdated computers from time to time. (Meaning it freezes, etc.) At this time, I could use a computer for my students. My fairy tale dream would be to have at least two new computers with 8 GBs of memory (ram) and both with no less than 1 TB hard drive. We use our computer centers daily. We truly need upgraded computers at this time. I would use this resource in multiple ways to help my students. As a teacher, I love "Empowering Students Through Art," This would help my creative students with academics, as well as daily art activities.
