My students need a teaching easel and a21 subscriptions to Let's Find Out magazine from Scholastic - a classroom resource that will bring the wonders of the outside world into the classroom.
Remember your first exploration through an exciting piece of literature? My goal is to give my students, literary, experiences in the classroom that will leave an impression for a lifetime. My vision is to show my students the joys of learning and just how amazing the world around us is!
My students are a group of curious, ambitious, and excited learners.
The excitement they have about learning in Kindergarten inspires me to find as many outlets as possible in order to expose them to as much knowledge as possible. They find excitement and are very engaged in anything I present to them; they retain the information, grow in knowledge, and begin to use it immediately in their daily conversations at school. So I'm in search for more! Using this resource will also help develop language and vocabulary for my ELL students who speak little to no English. Unfortunately, finding more resources requires more financial support, and many of my kiddos' families are not able to financially contribute for materials that will enrich their classroom learning. I don't want the lack of finances to be a hindrance to their learning opportunities, and so my search efforts have brought me to this point!
My Project
The Let's Find Out magazine from Scholastic will be used to enrich my students' reading as well as expose them to parts of the world they may never have the opportunity to see. Not only does it provide a hands on approach to Social Studies, Science, and Reading, but the subscription also provides online resources which will encourage technology use in the classroom.
I requested the easel to serve as a great place to display and teach the weekly reader materials. The storage area would be a perfect place to store our weekly reader materials, classroom books, and whole group teaching materials. The easel also has a magnetic white board that will be used during their daily reading and math learning stations. The other side of the easel is a lined white board. This side will be very beneficial for my whole group writing lessons as well as provide the students with a nice lined surface to practice their own writing creativity
Donations for this project will greatly impact the lives and educational experiences of each of my students.
It provides them the opportunity to be exposed to the amazing parts of the outside world. It introduces them to material that will establish prior knowledge for them to apply and use during their continued journey through education, and will definitely benefit their Reading, Social Studies, Science, Vocabulary, and Writing skills.
