This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Oh the places my students will go if they could see the big picture. An Epson projector will help to engage my students and assist them in following along during instruction. The projector will also enable students to interact with technology while learning. My 2nd grade students are curious and eager to learn! In this public charter school, approximately 62% of our students receive free or reduced lunch and breakfast.
My students range from being on grade level in reading and math, to some who are significantly below grade level.
I have 22 students, 5 are reading below 2nd grade level, 5 are classified as ELL and all but 2 receive extra support in Reading. Our school does not have the funding to purchase Smart Board for the teachers. I would like to bring comparable technology to my students using an LCD projector.
My Project
Thanks to my school, I have a great laptop computer that I can use to create meaningful lessons using Power Point presentation. With an Epson projector I will be able to engage the whole class at one time by displaying power point lessons, text, pictures, student work, and all types of Internet content on the big screen in our classroom. I plan to use the Epson projector in a similar way that other classroom teachers utilize Smart Board technology !I have already have some of what I need to set up a new system in my classroom .
The projector is a vital piece of the puzzle.
Once the projector is in place, my students and I will have the technology that will help to engage, support, and extend learning. Having this projection system in my classroom will provide myself and my students an opportunity to extend learning in all academic areas through the use of technology. Like many, if not all students, they love technology. Once we have the Epson projector, they will be able to interact with technology more often in the classroom setting.
