My students need an iPad to increase reading and math skills levels. They need a cover and VGA adapter so we can connect it to the projector and interactive white board.
As a teacher whose Kindergarten students use technology daily, I have no doubt, if we have a class iPad, VGA connector and case, we could utilize it in an effective way to promote the kindergarten skills at hand.
Teaching is something that runs deep in my family.
My mom and godmother both taught at the same school I am now. My sister teaches at a nearby school as well. We all have a great love of teaching and our community. At this time I am a Kindergarten teacher at a Pre K-5th grade school. My hometown is known to be a close area that works together for our students. Parental support is a definite priority in our area. Our local school has around 550 students. I have a fun loving class who embraces learning!
My Project
Obviously as a teacher, I know the importance of focusing on different student levels. I have no doubt, that the use of an iPad, could assist me with independent iPad centers to increase reading and math skills levels. I also have a student who speaks very little English this year. I feel with appropriate apps, we could help her tie the two languages together in a more productive way.
Our school set up a special iPad app website last year. On it is a link that offers free apps to parents. I would utilize this resource to help lessen learning gaps in specific areas. Another plan of action lies with combining the class iPad with an Apple Dock VGA adapter to bring lessons to my interactive whiteboard and projector. Any help in helping us achieve this would be appreciated!
For obvious reasons, additional technology money is not readily available for classroom iPads.
Please know that my students and I would be appreciative of your help in having our own classroom iPad. It would be used for productive lessons to bring the students to a higher level of academic achievement. Please consider helping our Kindergarten class!
