Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is a virtual field trip and a time-machine rolled into one! Through the use of children's literature and technology we jet to exotic locations and time periods every week in our gifted pull-out program classroom. Students are introduced to Ancient Cultures, making life-connections!
My students are young historians, scientists, archaeologists and anthropologists.
We explore Ancient Civilizations by researching their cultures, labor, festivals, governments and much, much more through group and independent inquiry.
Our class culture is one of learning, exploration, sharing and we evaluate our learning together!
My Project
My students need books and printing cartridges for the exploration and comparison of Universal Themes over time and across different cultures! Students will use these books and materials to connect their world and understanding to that of Ancient Cultures we are studying. Students will make connections between the stories and identify themes they find and apply it to their own lives and experience through journaling and writing.
These materials will allow students to see from different perspectives and then practice publishing their own opinions and perspectives!
Students will have books to read and reflect on and printing cartridges to make projects, and present their presentations to appropriate audiences.
These materials will update our current curriculum to include more recently published materials for Universal Theme reflection and student writing and publishing.
Students will have materials to discuss, reflect on, journal, edit, publish and present their presentations to appropriate audiences.
