This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At the end of the school year, I hope to have 90% of students reading at beginning first grade reading level.

They are all low income, high-risk students living in a very low income neighborhood.

They love to learn and come into school everyday with enthusiasm to learn. They are very intelligent kids, and come in well prepared from Pre-Kindergarten. They suffer most with language barriers.

My Project

I am requesting a listening center and audio books and songs in Spanish, which will serve as an individual learning center. They will listen to songs, audio books, and other resources to increase their fluency and comprehension. The center will be used exclusively as a center that can be used independently or in groups, and will provide freedom of choice.

It will make a difference because having a audio-listening center is a major component in the literacy component.

This will make the class even more enjoyable when used as a great group activity.
