Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a busy place where students engage in activities that help them explore concepts and ideas, think deeply about their learning, express their thinking in a variety of ways, and work together to share ideas and strategies.
My students are third graders who come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
They are bright, energetic, and hard-working. My students enjoy learning and like to participate in a variety of classroom activities, especially when they can work together and share ideas.
My school is a welcoming, positive learning community. Teachers, staff, parents, and students work together to make our school a great place to be and to provide students with a solid education, after-school programs, extracurricular activities, and evening activities for school families.
My Project
My students will use these materials during math center time. These activities will reinforce the concepts/skills I teach during daily math lessons. The Common Core Math in Minutes! Skill-Building Center and the Math in a Flash! Discovery Cans set will give my students opportunities to work together to discuss and solve a variety of math problems that address third grade concepts, including multiplication, division, fractions, expressions, equations, perimeter, and area. The Discovery Cans set even includes manipulatives to help the students solve the problems! The Fill-in-the-Blank Multiplication and Division stamps and Math Bingo Library will help my students learn their multiplication and division facts. The Bingo Library will also help my students practice identifying fractions, decimals, and geometric shapes. The Daily Math Practice book will help reinforce third grade concepts/skills and will help review concepts/skills students learned in previous grades.
These donations will help improve my classroom by providing my students with a variety of new and fun learning activities that are aligned with Common Core math standards and with my school's math curriculum.
