This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students need curl up mats that will allow them to practice and take the Prudential Fitness Gram curl up test better.

My students are from Southern California.

They grow up in a multi-cultural melting pot that brings them together with children from every background possible. They are 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. They are from low income to high income families. They are all great kids who are looking to have fun while they are learning.

My Project

These new tumbling/curl up mats are state of the art for fitness testing and tumbling. First and foremost they will be used for our California Prudential Fitness Gram testing. These mats are specifically designed to help students perform curl ups with the proper technique. By using proper technique the students will be able to train and test at a higher level. Secondly for tumbling these mats have thicker and better padding so it will reduce the risk of injury during our tumbling unit.

The curl up mats I am requesting will replace older mats.

Our current mats have very little padding left. We also have to mark the testing area with duct tape. These mats will make it easier for the students to test which should increase their scores
