My Students

Hi! I'm the music teacher at two schools in Hartselle, AL. I love my job but I need some help coming up with the supplies for kid stix for my two schools. I've purchased several things out of pocket but these are the two most expensive ones. Thank you for your help!

My students need more exposure to rhythm activities.

They are great at singing melodies and doing steady beat activities, but this program exposes them to rhythm in a really exciting way. I believe that this will benefit them greatly, not just during the years they are with me but in the future if they do anything with music or dance.

My Project

Kid Stix is a program that basically gives every student a drum set. They play from the computer program when they see certain icons. I'm lacking the tambourines and drum sticks because they are so expensive to get. I don't strive for perfection with my students but to create an environment where they feel free to experiment and are able to play/sing without worry of anyone making fun of them.

I love my job, but we don't have a lot of money to make music a memorable experience in their lives.

I use a variety of teaching methods and usually end up buying instruments and programs myself. My students will enjoy getting to play their very own drum set, while learning about rhythm. Thank you for your support!
