Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school motto is, "We are respectful, we are responsible, and we are ready to learn." Despite their impoverished circumstances, my students work hard to live up to this motto everyday.

My students live in a predominately low income, underprivileged community.

The majority of my students entered first grade reading below grade level. They are working hard to catch up and are excited about learning to read. Most of my students do not have access to computers and other technology at home.

My Project

Our classroom is equipped with a SmartBoard.The students are excited by the technology and are very engaged and motivated when using the SmartBoard. Though we have a projector, it is old and not reliable. In order to use the SmartBoard, we need a reliable projector.

A reliable projector will allow my students to use the SmartBoard.

It will allow all the students to participate in interactive lessons for all subjects. This will increase the level of student engagement and achievement.
