My students are amazing learners who LOVE technology!

We are overhauling our library/media-center and transforming it into a Learning Commons, complete with a MakerSpace where kids can build, create, and grow! Our school is a STEM school - we integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math into our core subjects every day. Our media center is behind and desperately needs updating to be a space where 21st century learners can thrive

My Project

Imagine making a piano with bananas for keys or playing Super Mario Brothers with a play-dough controller. That's what Makey-Makey is all about! Crazy inventions that integrate basic programming, found materials, and FUN! Some examples of things that can be used to make an input device with a Makey-Makey include: ketchup, pencil graphite, finger paint, fruits, plants, coins, your grandma, silverware, anything that is wet, pets, aluminum, rain, and hundreds more. Pretty much any material that can conduct at least a tiny bit of electricity can be used with a Makey-Makey kit! My students will be using these kits (and their imaginations) to create some crazy-cool controllers!

My students will harness the power of their imaginations to create crazy-cool inventions quickly and easily.

It will also help create a MakerSpace in our media center, turning it into a Learning Commons, a place where minds can gather to create amazing things
