My Students

As I look around my classroom each morning, I see the smiling faces of twenty-six leaders. Our day is filled with academic learning and leadership. My amazing students have an immense desire to learn as much about technology as possible. I want them to have the opportunity to achieve their goals.

I work in a school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch.

I have of twenty-six fourth graders that strive to do their best everyday. They share their goals with their classmates. They envision becoming doctors, veterinarians, teachers, mothers, fathers, and even the President of the United States. Many families struggle daily to sustain a stable home environment and provide necessities for their family. The students in my class yearn for the ability to learn technology. Unfortunately, the majority cannot afford to purchase devices or computers. Most of them need the opportunity to use computers at school because they do not have one at their home.

My Project

My students need a Mac laptop with a warranty plan and protective case, to utilize technology and to become 21st Century Learners. A laptop can open many doors, enabling them to learn necessary skills for the future. With the use of the requested laptop, my students will be able to complete research, create projects, read electronic books, complete writing assignments, take Accelerated Reading tests, prepare for high stakes tests, and learn to use programs. I envision my students having time to freely use the laptop during the day. They will rotate throughout the day, utilizing the available resources offered from the laptop. Students will be able to create presentations together and alone, to share with the class and school. They will also get to enter contests because they will have the ability to participate by using the latest technology.

My students' lives will be positively changed by receiving the laptop.

They will have the ability to become competent in all areas of technology. Possessing this knowledge will increase their self esteem and allow them to feel more confident. They will be better prepared for their future, personally and professionally.
