Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In a low SES school, my students struggle with life. Caring about school is not a priority; surviving is. I want to give them the desire for learning technology. I want them to know that a better future is possible.

My students come from various backgrounds.

However, in my school 99.9% are Hispanic of which 99.1% are economically disadvantaged. With low scores in Math and Science, I want to ensure that my students have a chance in life. Many of these students do not believe in themselves. I want to give them the opportunity of exploring technology in a creative way.

My Project

With littleBits students will design and create their own electronics. However, our district faces a variety of challenges. Funding for positive activities are often not available. As educators, we are continuously looking for ways to connect with students while providing opportunities to learn and enhance their critical thinking skills. littleBits will give my students the desire for knowledge in a technology driven world.

By increasing my students thirst for knowledge in the Technology area, Science and Math will follow.

By giving them the opportunity to flourish, my students will gain the confidence needed to get a higher education.
