My students need more chapter books for literature circles to keep them engaged and interested in reading! They are excited to be introduced to new books!
My students attend a Title 1 school in Arizona where many of the students come from homes where reading is not emphasized. They don't have a lot of access to books outside of school. Having books opens doors to a whole new world for them!

My students are third graders who love to read and need to hear stories read to them. My students attend a Title 1 school in Arizona where many of the students come from homes where reading is not emphasized. They don't have a lot of books outside of school. These students are hungry to learn!
My Project
My students will use the books for literature circles where they will have the opportunity to work in a group. They will learn skills and strategies that are essential to becoming excellent readers! Students will be able to take the books home to read and share with their families as well. Many of my students already love to read but new books and series are a great way to create and keep a love of reading!
This project will help students continue a love of reading and to spark that love of reading in students who aren't there yet.
Students will get to read the books individually, with their literature circle, and at home as well.
