My Students

My students love to learn, but don't love to sit in their desks. We like to gather in our community area for our reading, writing, and math lessons.

My students are from a suburban school near the capital of Georgia.

We are a school of very diverse students from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our school does not receive funding for many resources because we just miss the required threshold, but many of our students come from low income homes. This makes it difficult to purchase many of the needs that we have for our classrooms.

My Project

I am asking for 25 clipboards so that my students can have a surface to write on during group projects and community learning time. We love to gather together for many of our lessons and the students have a hard time if they have any writing to do. We also need an easel because I like to use chartpaper and big books in my lessons, and we so not currently have one that is functional. This allows the students to come up and add to my writing, read the big books and have a more interactive learning experience.

Having these resources will allow my class to learn together as a community, instead of sitting in desks all day long.

The students will benefit from being closer to the teacher and getting to interact with their classmate. I will be better able to help them because I will have more opportunity to communicate and observe them as they are learning.
