My students need color pencils, canvas panels, art books to introduce them to great artists and a color printer to look for works of art the students are curious about and print them.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Creativity isn't learned. It is something that comes from deep inside each of us. For children, it comes in many forms; we just need to have the proper tools to wake that inner artist and inspire creativity to come to life.
My aim is to introduce my students to some of the expansive forms of art that they have yet to see.
I wish to show them that every art form is beautiful and unique in its own way. I would like for them to learn that there is no right or wrong way to produce a work of art and that the world around them can become their very own form of inspiration.
Unfortunately, exposure to art is not always easy for children in our area. I believe it is important for them to see and experience art with a hands-on approach that will result in a burst of creativity and an eagerness to learn more.
My Project
I am asking for materials that can help open their young minds and help them become artists themselves. Through the use of a color printer, they will be able to print images of famous works of art, as well as the lesser known works by artists such as, Monet, Picasso, Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and Andy Warhol.
Once the children have been exposed to the various works of these artists, they can create their own works on canvas or paper. They will be able to go beyond the use of a crayon and experiment with drawing pencils, paints, paper mache and water colors.
Overall, I want my Kindergarten students to be creative and have fun.
I want them to learn about art and become life long learners. My goal is to inspire them to be curious, to ask questions and to set their imaginations free.
