I love to see the growth in my first grade students throughout the year! In my classroom, you will find learning taking place through whole group activities, as well as small group centers throughout the classroom. My goal is to reach every student on every level and watch them grow and succeed!
I work at an amazing school!
We have excellent teachers and administrators within our school family. However, it is also located in a very high poverty area.
I teach first grade. I have 22 precious students in my classroom, all from different walks of life. Some of my students have little to no help and support at home, making their learning at school the only education they receive. My goal, as their teacher, is to create a lasting relationship with each and every child and instill a love of learning within them that will last a lifetime.

My Project
In the last few years, technology has become a huge asset to education. Most children today constantly have some form of technology in their hand. Thankfully, it can be a very valuable tool. In my classroom, a big part of the leaning takes place during small groups. I have 22 students and only 4 computers. This makes it very difficult to incorporate technology in my learning stations. I am asking for an iPad with a protective cover to add to my center. We will use this during small groups to enhance reading and math in our classroom.
My goal is to have enough iPads at some point for every child in my class.
But, just adding one is huge. This will provide us with five forms of technology in my classroom and will also allow every student to rotate and use some form of technology daily. This will also allow me to teach my reading groups, while the other students are fully engaged and learning on their own at the same time.
