My Students
Each morning I chant with my class, "we can do it" and they answer, "we can read!"
Our classroom is in an urban setting. We have almost 70% low income students in our school overall. My classroom has many english language learners. Our students love to read books and they carefully chose books to keep in their book bins. They are learning to read the pictures, and sound out the words.
My Project
Students will use the iPad minis during literacy center. They will use apps that focus on early literacy skills including letter formation, letter ID, letter sounds and spelling. The cases will be used to protect the iPads from drops and damage. Students will be taught how to care for the iPads.
Students are always so excited to use any form of technology. They will love using iPad minis to learn important early literacy skills. Students will also be exposed to technology they might not have at home.
