Last year my kindergarten class won a prize as a top recycling class for our school.
I teach kindergarten at an elementary school for grades K-5.
Our school is made up of students from two communities. The students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. We are trying to teach our children how to recycle and help save the Earth.
My Project
Having more recycle cans will help to encourage our students to help save the Earth. Our school will be having a contest to see which grade level will collect the most bottles and cans. We need these cans to help collect these items. We are also collecting many other items and will use the cans for sorting skills.
These 2 cans are needed so that my students will have a daily reminder to recycle and a designated location to leave their recycle items.
They will also be used once a week at our student pick-up and drop-off area for the parents to leave items collected at home.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
