My Students

We all know that school is more fun when you can play a game, do a project, or really do anything out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, due to limited resources, my kids don't always have those opportunities.

I currently have a class of 19 students of varying socioeconomic statues.

While our district does have Promethean Boards for us to utilize in our classrooms, we only have one computer in each classroom (for the teacher), and one computer lab available for the school's 400 students. Because of limited access and time in the computer lab, my students miss out on being able to do all kinds of awesome projects. Research projects are limited to books, and while kids need to know how to conduct research with books, they are not provided with the most current information available.

My Project

Having iPads in our classroom would allow us to do a multitude of different projects! We could blog, podcast, test fluency, record Readers Theater, research topics of interests, read books or study an interactive model of the solar system. We could also conduct virtual science experiments, talk to people on the other side of the globe, play critical thinking games, write stories, draw illustrations--the possibilities are endless!

Having iPads in my classroom would provide my students with so many opportunities, and it would provide me with an opportunity to help my students create projects and memories that they'll remember their whole lives.
