Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us replace our old carpet. We have 36 little three and four year-olds making physical contact on the floor every day. Help! We use it during instructional time and at this age they are still learning to control many bodily functions. So of course they have accidents from time to time.

I have 36 very eager precious gems who come to school every day with a thirst for learning.

Of course they love their carpet. Each has his/her own special spot to call their own. We are a public school in N. Hollywood. Most of my students are Latino and speak very little English. The colorful carpet on which they sit offers them their first learning experience. It's the gathering place where they first learn to speak in front of an audience, make long-lasting friendships, and put their faith in the hands of their teacher.

My Project

A new carpet would give the class a much needed lift. The bright colors would invite them to want to sit, focus, and participate, making learning possible. The cleanliness would minimize health issues and prevent the spread of germs. This carpet would make the class more inviting and help motivate students to engage in educational experiences. It would provide a beautiful backdrop for photo opportunities as well as aide in the mastery of colors, graphing, sorting, and counting. The experiences would be endless!

Your donations would mean so much to my students.

More than anything, it would demonstrate to them that they are valued and important. Since parental involvement is a large component of this program, it would prove to parents that their children are truly loved, valued, and looked after. You won't be sorry!
