Mrs. Migues from Erath LA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.

It's All About Abilities NOT Disabilities

My students need an iPad, stylus and case to work on needed skills in centers. The VGA adapter would allow me to work the iPad with the projector and whiteboard.

My Students

As a SPED teacher I have always felt that we should focus on a child abilities, not disabilities. Find the positive and work it, as one might say. In reading articles on iPads with SPED children, this device seems to be a positive thing in a classroom. I know my students would love using an iPad!

I am truly fortunate to work at a dedicated elementary feeder school with more than 500 students from Pre K through 5th grade.

Our community is definitely one that is centered on education and our children. I have taught several grade levels, as well as working in SPED. I love my students and accenting what is positive in them!

My Project

As a SPED Teacher, I am always working to push students to their utmost potential. Most students love technology devices. With an iPad in my classroom, this would allow every student I work with to experience the power of an iPad and the wonderful apps floating in cyberspace. Our school has already set up an iPad page with apps for parents, teachers and students. Many of those are free. I know my students would love to work with these in reading, math, social studies and science. With an iPad, I could use it in centers, as well as in whole groups connected to my projector or whiteboard.

I believe in focusing on a students abilities, rather than their disabilities.

I know an iPad would help me do exactly that. Your consideration in helping my students receive an iPad would be appreciated!
