My Students
Our classroom is full of movement and energy and bursting with literacy-based and mathematics instruction. We are very fortunate to use technology on a regular basis, and many of my students are strong users of current media and technology. My students are motivated by all forms of digital learning.
My students are an energetic group with boys outnumbering girls in the classroom in a 2:1 ratio.
They love having choice in their learning environment and are happy to be buddies with first grade students and help one another out. They respect our classroom, each other and the school, and they love coming to school each day.
My Project
Having an iPad will help support students to learn in different ways. I will be able to use the iPad with the projector to enhance face-to-face lessons as well as create tutorials for students to upload to our classroom website. Students will be able to use the iPad during independent reading time to access e-readers as well as listen to reading for a strong model of fluent reading. The students will also be able to play educational games during literacy and math stations to reinforce skills learned. Having iPads, cases, and screen protectors will allow me to differentiate for a wider range of skills and learning abilities in the classroom.
This will improve learning in my classroom because it will make the learning and technology more relevant to today's student.
Students in my classroom are used to accessing technology, and this will provide them with the opportunity to use tools at school that they're using at home. This will also help to differentiate instruction and provide more options for reinforcement of skills both inside and outside of the classroom. I will be able to reach more students at their instructional level.
