I am a teacher to creative, inquisitive, and innovative learners! As their teacher, it is my job to inspire and guide them into becoming life-long learners. It is also my job to provide them with the tools and resources needed to do so!

What I love most about my 32 third-graders is that they are infinitely curious. Our classroom day is FULL of opportunities where their curiosity and creativity are encouraged. Students are constantly engaged in experiences that foster their critical thinking skills. Collaboration is also a key element to our classroom. We work together, we learn from each other, we support one another, and we celebrate our accomplishments together as a classroom family.
My Project
I am requesting five iPads to use in our classroom. They will be used in ALL subject areas by all of the students in our classroom. We will also happily share them with our teammates next door in the other third grade classroom.
The iPads will provide endless learning opportunities. We will use them for researching our inquiry projects. We will use them to read e-books, magazines, and news articles. We will read our classmates' blog entries and grow our ideas together on class blogs and wikis. We will strengthen our math skills with games and flashcards. We will publish our writing with story making apps and then share our work with classmates and families. We will create numerous projects using technology as our medium. We will photograph memorable moments in our classroom. We will record our speeches, conferences, and reader's theater performances so we can learn and grow from ourselves. The possibilities are endless!

Five iPads will provide enough technology for small groups to work on individual iPads within our classroom. This would allow for more time in small groups and more opportunities for inquiry research because we will have the needed resources!
