iPads for US!

My students need iPads to work interactively on all subjects taught in fourth grade! Technology is the future and so are my students!

My Students

Each day my students work on the laptops, however we only have 4 laptops that work. This makes it very difficult to rotate them and give each student a turn everyday. If we had iPads it would allow for more students to participate in our engaging activities each day!

Most of my students don't have the luxury of having technology in their own homes.

They need to learn how to type and navigate the Internet and their only chance would be at school! The more technology I have in my classroom, the more opportunities we would have for each student to participate! They are all eager to learn new things each day and are amazed at what technology can offer them! Their creative sides are enhanced when given the chance use technology. The possibilities are endless!

My Project

Each day during math, my students are given time to use various websites to reinforce strategies taught during the day's lesson, for example multiplication and division algorithm, comparing fractions and solving multi-step word problems. During reading workshop, my students are allowed to use reading programs to listen to books on the Internet as well as research topics of interest. Sometimes students need enrichment work as well and the Internet offers many programs to stretch their minds! Once my students learn how to use each iPad, they will be able to go on independently throughout the day without the assistance of the classroom teacher. This will promote independence and responsibility.

Having more technology in the classroom will teach my students about responsibility, independence and offer endless possibilities to learn visually.

My students will become more familiar with technology which will assist them at becoming successful individuals in the future!
