My Students

Working with students with autism is both challenging and super rewarding! In my classroom my students work super hard all day. My students need to learn things like how to count money and calculate change back, telling time, and reading menus or schedules.

My students are middle schoolers where every moment of education counts.

They are getting close to high school, graduation, and becoming adults needing to be as independent as possible. They are super fun and have great personalities once you get to know them. My school is very diverse with students from multiple economic backgrounds and cultures.

My Project

By having access to iPads my students will be able to communicate with one another. They will learn important life skills such as shopping at a store with an educational app. They can also learn how to tell time. We will be able to pull up information and books from our curriculum and communicate using augmentative communication apps. Lastly, my students will learn to write their names on the handwriting apps.

These donations would improve my students' abilities to count money, tell time, write their names, and much more.

The opportunities to learn new skills are endless with iPads. The students will be fortunate to have these and learn these functional skills to set them up for success in their adult lives.
