iPad for Technology Education

My students need an iPad to access the world for educational activities and to learn how to participate in the class's blog responsibly and safely.

My Students

You can help create responsible, respectful, and safe Internet and social media users who are inspired to explore and create using technology.

I have 28 4th grade students who come from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Some of these students are English Language Learners. Students in this class also range in academic ability from Gifted students to students on Individualized Education Programs. While many of these students have Internet access at home, several do not.

My Project

The students will use the iPad to access learning possibilities that they would normally not have access too. They will be able to use the iPad during Language Arts and Math centers to access activities that reinforce the lessons taught in class by giving them the opportunity to practice the skills. They will also learn how to effectively research using the Internet. Additionally, students will be able to access the class blog and contribute to the discussions using responsible and appropriate communication skills. Students will also be able to use the iPad for creating presentations including educational videos.

I think it's important for students to get comfortable with the use of technology at an early age since they will need to use it as they get older.

An iPad is a great tool for teaching technology because of the ease of maneuvering through apps and the Internet. An iPad can be an important tool for helping to meet the needs of the 21st century student inspiring them to explore and create.
