In our classroom we are always eager to learn. My students are very curious about their surroundings and do not hesitate to ask questions and seek answers. They love when we are doing small group work or hands-on activities. My students love to play interactive games and research topics.
My students are very eager learners.
This year I am teaching the high focus group. They love to use technology and learn with hands-on activities. This group of students would benefit greatly with having more access to technology in the classroom. They love to be actively engaged in their learning. Anytime technology is involved their eyes and mind light up.
Researching answers to questions is one of our favorite things to do. This past school year, my school moved from a B school to an A school. This is an accomplishment that both teachers and students are proud of. Forty-six percent of our students are considered to be on level. My school is full of hard working students who always put forth their best effort.
My Project
We currently have six older computers in our classroom. On any given day those computers may or may not cooperate. My goal by the end of the year is to have enough iPads for a small group setting.
We have already been funded one iPad, and we are now requesting another. My students and I were so excited to receive the funded project. We plan on using the iPads during small group math and reading rotations. Also, we plan on using the iPads to listen to podcasts that pertain to topics that are being taught. The iPad can be used to bring in lessons using QR codes and incorporate learning apps. Tablets are easy, portable, and user friendly. Most students are able to use an iPad, making this the perfect technology for our classroom.
The donations to the project will improve my classroom setting by providing a more hands-on approach to technology.
We will be incorporating technology in their everyday lives and relating it to the skills being taught. They will have the newest and most advanced technology allowing them more opportunities to learn and to be successful in the future. They will be engaging in daily skills needed for second grade while using the newest available learning apps, podcasts, and technology.
