My students are a lively bunch from a small town in North Carolina.
With the recent testing mandates and legislation, these first graders are asked to sit still and focus longer than ever before. With only 20 minutes allotted for recess in an eight hour day, school is becoming more and more of a difficult task.
My Project
I envision my students having an outlet for the excess energy they posses. The students in my room will sit on the stability balls in the room instead of chairs. Studies have shown that having stability balls in the classroom instead of chairs increases focus for students.
