Today, technology is a great way to reach my students. Let's face it, with this generation, technology is what they know! I would love for my class to be able to have the world in their hands with iPod touches!
I have 21 wonderful first grade students that are all learning to read.
I have some students who are struggling with reading and letter recognition. I would love to have two iPod touches to help make this process more fun for them and build confidence.
Reading is so important, and using technology would be a great incentive for those students. I want them to love reading as much as they love technology! So what would be better than putting those two things together?
My Project
This new technology will be used daily for literacy and math stations. I would also like to have the iPods available for my students to record each other reading; this way they can see what they need to work on!
The students could also take the iPods home, since each student is required to read two books every night. There are so many educational opportunities with these wireless devices. With all the apps that are out there, my students can build needed skills through this technology and build confidence while doing it!
The educational opportunities are endless and can be found throughout our curriculum.
We wouldn't just use this technology for reading, but for math, science, and social studies! The possibilities are endless!
