Ms. DeBrosse from Baltimore MD is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an iPad to access technology that will enhance their general education studies and support their I.E.P. goals and objectives.

My first grade students are busy tackling the Common Core First Grade Standards while also concentrating on their specific I.E.P. goals. They have objectives focused on their language, emotional, and physical needs.
I teach in a high-poverty area in a public city school.
My first graders need grit to face daily challenges both in school and their surroundings. A typical day has my students focused on language, math, Spanish, science, while also receiving intervention services in reading, speech, occupation therapy, and more.
The students I'm working with this school year receive special education services both in the classroom and in an intervention space. They arrived in first grade with a great deal of interest and experience in technology-based curriculum. I have thankfully been given the opportunity to use one iPad to support their learning for the first few months of the school year. My goal would be to eventually provide every one of my students with learning-focused technology to prepare them for their future. I have developed comprehension response pages aligned with the Hooked on Phonics app and look forward to providing the opportunity for every student to grow and learn using this self-paced program. My students access the general education curriculum using sensory materials designed to support their strengths and areas of need. Four students I am working closely with have been diagnosed with autism. Technology has opened the doors to learning for all the students I'm working with! By combining both "paper to pencil" activities, sensory-based learning materials, and carefully selected software, my students will be able to face their challenges head on!
Using this iPad means my students will get exactly what they need to reach their potential!
They will also be receiving positive reinforcement by participating in appropriate and engaging activities using the iPad. Your donation helps tremendously in providing a high quality education to these young learners.
