My Students
"Sitting still is overrated. It makes sense for the opera or for meditating, but in most classrooms, it's given far more honor than it deserves. Children need to move." ~Tom Hunter, National Association for the Education of Young Children. In our class we like to "Move it! Move it!".
I have some of the most amazing kids.
Each is so different but they all are funny, witty, sweet, caring, and most of all eager to learn. They have set their own expectations and continue to rise and raise the bar. Each day is a new and exciting day in our classroom!
My Project
My students are fabulous kids. They are funny, witty, serious, caring, and so aware of the world around them. But they are kids. They are constantly moving. I am requesting 6 Hokki stools for my students. While in Guided Reading or small groups I can envision the kids focused because these chairs help those who have focusing issues. It gives the kids just enough room to fidget and move without getting up. The kids are still seated and focused.
I think that by donating and helping us get these chairs my sweet kids will be able to stay focused and not let their fidgeting or learning disabilities get in their way of learning.
