High School Drying Rack

My students need a drying rack to hold their wet and messy artwork.

My Students

In the high school classroom, which is shared with other classes, I teach Studio Art, Advanced Art, and AP Art. Classes are small, but I strive to give them a full high school art experience. We study art history, art production, aesthetics and art criticism.

My students are proud to be different.

They embrace being a charter school student and artists. We have a full range of personalities and abilities, but it feels like a family. I teach 9-12th grade all in the same classes. Classes are usually around ten students.

My Project

The students will create artwork using chalk pastels, charcoal, acrylic paint, watercolor, print making with ink, and more. Consequently, they need a safe place to put their work that is large enough so it does not touch other artwork or surfaces. They will use the drying rack as a place to put their artwork while it is still in progress or wet/gluey.

Giving the students a place to put their artwork makes them own their space and artwork more.

Organization in an art room that is shared with other classes is key. Students will take their work more seriously if they know it will not get ruined before it is complete.
