Our school was destroyed by a tornado on Mother's Day this year. Most of my classroom items are gone. Our classroom is in need of books, phonics, and math items. In August I will have 20-22 Kindergartners come through my door ready to learn and I want them to have everything they need to succeed
I teach Kindergarten in a Title 1 school located in Texas.
Most of my students are on free or reduced lunch. My students are energetic, sweet and they come in excited to learn. Our community and the children suffered greatly from the tornado, and I want to rebuild my library, math, and phonic areas before they return, so they don't lack anything they need to learn and grow.
My Project
Kindergarten is the foundation for reading, math and socialization. These books will be used often throughout the day. They will be used when I read to the students, and for the children to look through and retell the stories using the pictures and eventually they will read them on their own. They will be able to build their reading and writing skills using the language art games and puzzles. The math manipulatives will help them learn and grow their number skills through play.
Your donation will help to rebuild my classroom after it was destroyed by the tornado.
My new class of Kindergarten students will enter a class full of exciting books, math manipulative, phonic games and puzzles. Their world has been turned upside down and with your help my classroom will be a return to the norm.
