My Students

About half of my students are reading below grade level. I want to use the IPads to utilize the online reading program Lexia to improve reading skills. I also want to introduce the students to Kidblog to encourage their writing skills and give them a voice in the digital world!

My students are bright and energetic!

They are extremely motivated by technology and hands-on, authentic projects. We are one class of five second grade classes. Our school has approximately 540 students. Our school is one of seven elementary schools in our district. Our motto is, "Take care of yourself, take care of each other, and take care of this place." The students do an excellent job of following this goal and that makes us a wonderful school family.

My Project

My students will use the IPad to practices reading skills through the program Lexia. They will be introduced to Kidblog in order to encourage writing skills and practice sharing ideas. The IPad will also allow students to access information in order to expand their learning and learn to investigate and research.

This project will make a huge difference in our classroom by giving students easy access to the technology needed to create seamless learning experiences.

Students will have opportunities to utilize the technology on a consistent and daily basis, where now it is difficult to schedule those opportunities with so many students in our school.
