My Students

There's something special about hearing stories told and listening to someone read a book with their own interpretation. In order to give my students that experience, I need a listening center full of audio books.

We are a second grade class at a public charter school in Southern California.

My students love to read! Sometimes it's hard to get them to put their books down, even to go to recess! They also love listening to books and enjoy reading along with audio versions of books.

My Project

Having a library of audio books will really enhance our literacy block. The listening center will be fully equipped with the appropriate books for students reading at various levels which will allow me to meet with small groups while students are at the center independently.

This project is so important to me because I want to be able to provide a text-rich environment for my students, and provide many different ways they can experience a book.

Having a listening center with engaging stories is just what my kids need as one of their literacy stations!
