My Students

Sometimes it is hard for my students to be able to understand Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math theories. My students want to see "real world" application. We want to create and race CO2 dragsters to apply these concepts.

I teach 7th/8th grade students at a public charter school in Utah.

I teach students of all abilities from students with special needs to very gifted students. My students love to be active and engaged in the learning process in my technology classes. My 7th grade and 8th grade curriculum deals with many types of technology from media and communications to engineering and manufacturing technology.

My Project

My students will be able to race their CO2 dragsters they create with your help. We need a CO2 Dragster Racetrack to apply the concepts we will learn in class. The CO2 dragster unit is an introduction for my students to many new and different concepts and challenges. The goal of the unit is to allow students apply concepts of physics and design with "real world" application. My students will also learn new skills and techniques involved in the construction of the project. Concepts from math and physics will be employed during the dragster unit. They include measurement, multiplication and division, use of formulas, graphing, and estimation.

We need more leaders in the world in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

By having a CO2 Dragster track to test and race, my students will be able to embrace these concepts and change the world!
